Rails steakhouse outside seating8/3/2023 ![]() ![]() So this lobster roll was a fair value for a fair price. If you want to get a "loaded" lobster roll, compare it to prices around: they're easily doubled. My wife loved her lobster roll, but wished it were a little bigger. I saw several reviewers complain about the size of lobster dishes. Here I get into one of my pet peeves about reviews. We started with an order of steamers: perfectly prepared and delicious. The food was good, our server was knowledgeable and attentive, the dining area clean and attractive. If you like seafood, this is the place to go in the Morristown area. Good bread, good sauce, good amount of eggplant / cheese. Sandwiches - only tried the eggplant parm but it’s 4 starts. Maybe if they topped it with a hint of gravy it’d be AMAZING (hint hint!). although it’s a little thicker - it’s perfectly balanced (crunch, softness) and supports the toppings! The mashed potato pie one tasted oddly delicious. The coal fired pizza has a thicker dough but i personally find delicious. ![]() The four cheese and sopressata are our go-to’s. The woodfired pizza is your traditional neapolitan one (smaller than the coal fired). The MEATBALLS WITH WARM RICOTTA, PARMESAN (w/VODKA) are good. Pics in this post don’t have the meatballs. They have a variety of them, but my favorite are the meatballs in Marinara sauce with mozzarella. ![]() I’d reconfirm they have your reservation the day of though, it seemed as though they were not ready for us (but luckily had tables to throw together). Has become a go-to when in morristown and are in the mood for a pie, have a few people, and want to stay on the Main Street. For my ratings food is 4.7 out of 5 & drinks are 4.5 out of 5, overall ranking is 4.7 out of 5 and a must visit NJ. Important info: it is valet optional, there is coach check, attire ranges from casual to formal, price can be as expensive as you want but basically right in line with normal steak houses (good value). There's also a speak easy down stairs which has a library wall that you actually have to pull a book out of to open it up - just saying. I'd put Rails up against almost any other steak house and feel confident that they would come out on top. And our server (this time Matt) was incredible. We look a bit younger so the fact that he cared that much made us feel good. Yet the best part might be the service! The manager came to our table 3 times to check in and make sure we were okay. The food is phenomenal, the drinks are impeccable and the atmosphere is remarkably charming. Ever gone to a steak house and asked for medium and got medium well? Yea, that's never going to happen here. ![]()
